Want to know how much bill you will receive this month based on the units you will use? Here is a simple and easy way to check your bill. By entering your consumed units, you can calculate your estimated bill and maintain your monthly budget accordingly.
Following are the steps for calculating the bill:
Here's an example of what your estimated bill result looks like, with the full slab-wise breakdown and unit rate shown:
LESCO calculates your bill by applying the slab-wise unit rate to your consumed units, then adding fixed charges and government taxes. The basic formula is:
Here's how it works step by step:
The LESCO tariff is the official electricity unit rate set by NEPRA. The rates of the units are different for each consumer. It depends on the type of consumer and the unit usage. You can find the complete tariff below so that you can understand the rates.
Users who consume less than 200 units of electricity over the course of six months are protected users. Those consumers who use less than 200 units per month should have a low unit rate according to tariff.
The unprotected consumers are those whose monthly consumption exceeds 200 units. Consumers who are not protected have higher unit rates than consumers who are protected. As the number of units consumed increases, their unit rate increases as well.
You qualify as a protected consumer (Tariff A-1a) if your average monthly usage over the last six billing cycles does not exceed 200 units. The rates below are from the official NEPRA SRO Uniform Tariff effective 01-Jul-2025, and verified against a real April 2026 LESCO bill.
| Slab | Per Unit Rate | Fixed Charges (per kW) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 – 100 units | Rs. 10.540 | Rs. 300 |
| 101 – 200 units | Rs. 13.010 | Rs. 300 |
If your six-month average exceeds 200 units, you are classified as a non-protected (unsubsidised) domestic consumer. Below are the official NEPRA-notified slab-wise rates and per-kW fixed charges effective from 01-Jul-2025 (SRO uniform tariff for XWDISCOs):
| Slab | Per Unit Rate | Fixed Charges (per kW) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 – 100 units | Rs. 22.44 | Rs. 200 |
| 101 – 200 units | Rs. 28.91 | Rs. 200 |
| 201 – 300 units | Rs. 33.10 | Rs. 400 |
| 301 – 400 units | Rs. 37.99 | Rs. 600 |
| 401 – 500 units | Rs. 40.20 | Rs. 800 |
| 501 – 600 units | Rs. 41.62 | Rs. 1,000 |
| 601 – 700 units | Rs. 42.76 | Rs. 1,000 |
| Above 700 units | Rs. 47.69 | Rs. 1,000 |
LESCO bill is divided in main four sections:
The first section deals with the customer's details, including his name, address, reference number, customer ID, and maximum electricity load he can draw.
It contains information on the history of the bills for the year, peak off peak units readings, and the current reading, as well as the maximum demand indicator that shows the highest load used in these months.
This section includes the current month's reading. Those include the LESCO charges, the government charges, and the charges after the due date. This section includes the total charges that consumers must pay.
It includes the amount that the consumer has to pay until the due date and after the due date with surcharges.
There are following types of taxes which are included in LESCO bill:
At peak times, people consume more electricity, so the per unit cost at that time is higher than at off-peak times. As compared to peak hours, off-peak rates are lower. In order to save electricity, it is best to do electricity work during off-peak hours. Peak and off-peak hours are as follows:
Higher electricity rates apply
Lower electricity rates apply
No, it's not official. It only gives an estimated bill according to current rates and taxes, but it can still vary due to other taxes.
No. The only thing you need to do is enter the number of units you consumed and calculate your estimated bill.
Units over 200 have a much higher unit rate than units under 200, so bills rise so much above 200 units.
The after-due-date amount is what the consumer has to pay if he didn't pay the bill on time, so now he will have to pay the bill along with a fine.
